About Elizabeth Vu

Elizabeth Vu, LICSW

I bring my empathic sensitivity to our work to help bring resolution to the issues that are getting in the way of having a full life. I have worked in the field of mental health for over 15 years in a variety of environments; I have worked in home, community, school, and clinic-based settings. This has given me a wonderful opportunity to work with many different people, in different situations and points in their lives, and I hold these opportunities in the highest respect. My training has been focused on the practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy, Sandplay, experiential play therapy for children, and trauma-informed methods. Through these approaches we will work in partnership to explore the impact of your early experiences and relationships, so you may gain insight and clarity to help you make more positive choices in your life. I look forward to working with you. Call me today at 425-390-8325.

Education

My undergraduate and graduate studies focused on clinical social work; through this education I view individuals through a biopsychosocial lens. This means, a person is a part of their family constellation, impacted by their home and community environment growing up, and influenced by experiences and relationships throughout their lives. My graduate research explored dynamics around the education of pre-adoptive parents regarding attachment issues and considerations in adopting foster children. I continued my education through professional training programs in psychodynamic psychotherapy and trauma healing. This training allows me to adjust my approach to the particular needs of my clients.

  • Bachelor of Social Work, St. Olaf College
